Last winter was really hilarious around our house. I love the house to be nice and cozy and warm. I love the feeling of coming in from the cold into a nice warm home. It makes it feel so homey and nice. My husband on the other hand likes the house to be cool. He says it feels good to have it cool and crisp. He says he also likes to curl up under the thick blanketsto get warm. So basically, I walk by the thermostat and turn the heat on. He walks by and turns it down. We end up arguing and running up our bill by turning the heat on, off, on, off! When we moved to New York we knew right away that we would sign up for New York Natural Gas Prices. Now we don't have to worry how many times we change the thermostat. SO, now it is game on. I guess we will finally see who wears the pants in this marriage. I can tell you that the last time I called it a game on was when we were deciding to get a cat or a dog. I wanted a cat, my husband wanted a dog. My cat, fluffy, likes the house warm too!

Snows

If it snows, then we will have to cancel it because my hubby doesn’t like going out in the snow. I guess me and Rachel need to wash our hands now. My hubby is screaming that the dinner is almost ready. We will have a salad, lasagna and some homemade garlic bread.

A friend of mine told me her husband, Steve, is having problems using a Tricare program offered to people in the military.  Steve has a friend that uses Walgreens and Express Scripts and says this is the most affordable and convenient source for his prescription medicines.  For some reason I’m still trying to understand, Steve and others  from the military are not being allowed to use this same option like his friend.  Steve is so frustrated about not being able to access this option like his friend that he contacted the local media to advise them of the situation.  Others should do the same if they are unable to take advantage of the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens for the military.  My friend learned more about this dispute by searching for Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook because both places have valuable and up to date info on this topic.  My friend asked me to like Walgreens on Facebook because they support the troops and they believe Express Scripts is not cooperating like they should.  This would be a good idea for others that want to show their support for Walgreens and to encourage Express Scripts to resolve the issue for everyone involved.

Dog waste stations

My family loves the outdoors and when it’s nice outside, we usually take a long walk or have a picnic in the park. I like the park close to where I live because they have very nice pet waste stations and dog exercise equipment which I am starting to see more in other parks. I love dogs and finding those nice accessories in a park for the dogs is just awesome to me. Anyway, when the spring comes, we will be spending more time in the park.

Our daughter loves to sit on some of the aluminum bleachers near the football field. In our park, they have a small football field where they have portable bleachers for people to sit. Instead of sitting down on them, our daughter loves to climb up and down the bleachers. I told my hubby we need to get some pictures of her playing on them the next time we go there and she plays on the bleachers.

Eggplant

I love eggplant and it’s good for you too. Rachel and my hubby do not like it and I can’t blame them because those two are so picky when it comes to food. My hubby wanted to go bowling tonight, but I don’t want to go out because the weather is so cold today.

Getting a TV

For the longest time I resisted getting a TV at home because I didn’t want the kids to get too addicted to the thing. I had heard horror stories about children never getting off the couch and not being able to carry on conversations because they spent hours a day in front of the screen but I finally decided I couldn’t shield them from technology forever so I got us a http://www.cannonsatellite.com/direct-tv-movies.html package and talked to them about what they were allowed and not allowed to watch. It’s actually been a pretty easy transition and I think because my kids haven’t really had a TV they’re not all that interested in it. My daughter really likes MTV but that’s because she’s 15 but she only watches an hour or so a day before she’s bored with it and goes outside. My son is really active in sports and always has been so all he really watches is games which is totally fine with me – that’s like not even watching TV at all practically!
